Student Data

Students need to be careful when putting any type of information online. The Child Online Protection Act was enacted in 1998. It allows for an “online collection of personal information from children under 13” (Bitter and Legacy, 243). This collection allows students to feel safer since their information is no longer easily available to just anyone. The act however, caused many sites to feel like they were being censored. The image below demonstrates people's views on the bill. 201901_6.jpg
